month: April 2009

Rebecca & Michael were married at Astor’s Beechwood Mansion. They got great weather! April is so hit or miss in Newport, so I was thrilled!! Rebecca was a gorgeous bride….cute little bride doll figure, big blue eyes, dewy flawless skin, perfect ivory mermaid dress, cathedral veil and peep-toe shoes!!! She was like my bride model. I could have photographed her for 4 hours straight. Here are some preview pictures!

Gorgeous couple….Rebecca has beautiful bone-structure.

A beautiful spring day in Newport

The underside of Rebecca’s gorgeous mermaid gown. Love the lines!

Look at the bias-cut on the back of the dress…great detail!

I loved the color version overlooking the ocean view, so I posted both of them.

Big, beautiful blue eyes!

Juicy cross lighting upstairs at Beechwood

Our groom in my favorite room at the mansion before the ceremony

Rebecca’s grand entrance with great backlight…it gave her a heavenly glow

A great moment when Rebecca’s dad gave her away

Michael saying vows

I literally *gasped* behind my camera when I saw this image before the shutter clicked

If you are one of my brides and considering a cathedral length veil….DO IT, DO IT! I can create such amazing imagery for you if wear one!!!

Like I said, Rebecca was a little bride doll. Tell me her dress isn’t stunning….!!!! I love the mermaid cut!!! Love it!

Michael’s groomsman, Kevin…striking a pose & chilling with Mrs. Astor!

This cracks me up! I was laughing so hard, I cried while processing this session at my desk!

…and pick up their album from me. You can see their book below in one of my previous posts. It’s the pretty white & brown book with a photo on the cover. I love Alaina’s new haircut!!! We talked about their new house, new puppies and the new electric fence that comes with the dogs!

I’m getting geared up to shoot every weekend now until December; not to mention marathon editing sessions Monday-Friday. My secret weapon is sugar-free Red Bull. (I recently discovered that coffee is making me cranky) This is what $40 worth of Red Bull looks like:

My favorite thing is delivering finished wedding books to my newlyweds. There is nothing like seeing the look of joy on a bride’s face when she opens her wedding album for the first time. I love the weight of the books, the smell of the new leather, the feel of the pages. I love hearing the bride describe what she was thinking in certain photos. My photographs bring back emotions and feelings, and that’s really what it’s about.

On Saturday, Carrie and Mark came down to get their book from me. We caught up about the past few months and about house hunting!

Look at the smiles—it doesn’t get any better then that.
